Formula U Racing is the Formula SAE team at the University of Utah.
Formula SAE is a student design and engineering competition organized by SAE. Teams from around the world design and engineer experimental cars that participate in technical and racing challenges every year at Michigan International Speedway.
Formula U includes undergraduate and graduate students from nearly every engineering discipline, plus related majors. We are always looking for driven students at the U who want to be part of a challenging and rewarding multidisciplinary effort.
Sponsors are a core part of this program. Our cars are designed and built by students from raw materials and commercial off-the-shelf parts, and sponsors support us through monetary and material donations, mentorship, and manufacturing capability.
Partnering with industry leaders helps us design, build, and race at a higher level each season.
